Portfolio return for November 2007
What a month! Following on the heels of spectacular September (+4.39%) and October (+3.44%), November turns out to be a dud. My portfolio had a fall of 3.82% in the month. Coincidentally, this number also happens to be the largest fall my portfolio has ever encountered since I began portfolio tracking in Jan 2004. The next biggest fall was 3.63%, way back in April 2004.

This month, my portfolio underperformed the benchmark but YTD, it is still leading by around 3% (11.36% versus 8.08%). Generally, there are not many places to hide in the month. US and EAFE largecaps fell by 4% to 5% while US and EAFE smallcaps, emerging market equity and PME all fell around 8%. The worst was US REITs which fell by almost 10% in the month. The only bright spot in my portfolio was the healthcare provider ETF (IHF) which gained around 5%. This ETF focuses on HMOs, hospitals, clinics, dentists, opticians, nursing homes, rehab and retirement centers.

Portfolio movements: Bought US S, US REITs and INT S. My portfolio allocation, as of the end of November 2007, is shown below.
